Learning to spin - Kehräyksen opettelua

I couldn't resist anymore and I blame mostly my namesake Aija from across the Atlantic for showing her work so enticingly in her blog. Also this blog - is responsible for my growing interest in learning to spin.

So I bought myself a little bit of fibre and a drop spindle for my 34th birthday in the beginning of this month, and I'm now learning how to spin. And I'm loving it!
Tarttui se kehräämis-innostus sitten allekirjoittaneeseenkin. Syytän koko innostuksesta Amerikan Aijaa jonka blogin kuvat olivat aivan liian herkullisia ja Kaita jonka kehräyskuvat olivat vihdoin tarpeeksi sysäämään sopivan nettikaupan suuntaan...
Ostin siis kuun alussa itselleni 34-v. synttärilahjaksi villaa ja värttinän ja nyt sitten ensimmäiset kokeilut on aloitettu. Olen aivan innoissani. Mahtavaa hommaa! (5-vuotiaan kommentti: "Onko toi taikaa?")

I think you are doing well in learning how to spin, nice yarn you are making.
I took one class this winter and now I am waiting for my spindle and some accessory for my spinning wheel, then I can keep on practicing.
Good luck with you spinning :-)

Sounds great - I can only dream of spinning wheel... but maybe one day. I'm teaching myself to spin on a drop spindle with a couple of tutorials I found in YouTube. So far so good:-) At least I'm enjoying it and getting some sort of yarn made;-P
