Knitting needle rolls - Puikkokotelot

I love these old children's pillow cases. I used to sleep with these in the end of 70's and they hold a great deal of sentimental value for me. Alas, everything changes and so do pillows - and these lovelies don't fit modern pillows - so I cannot use them as they are. But I couldn't just throw them away as I love those retro prints. Decided to make (finally!) some knitting needle rolls.

Sain äidiltäni vanhat lasten tyynyliinat, joita itsekin olen käyttänyt joskus 70-80 luvun taitteessa. Ihanat retrokuosit!

Daisy-print got a new life in holding my long needles.

Päivänkakkaratyynyliina pääsi pitkien puikkojen kotelomateriaaliksi.

And small flower/ Honey bear fabric hugs my dpns.

Ja pikkukukka/nallukkakangas kätkevät sukkapuikkoni turvalliseen syleilyyn.

Here both of them rolled up. I'm ridiculously happy about these.

Tässä vielä molemmat rullattuina. Miten en aiemmin tullut tehneeksi näitä?

So nice. Good idea to use fabric with sentimental value for things like this. I should try this myself :-)

I thought so too:-) After all I use knitting needles every day and I used to use those pillowcases almost every night when little... it's not a big deal for anyone else but I like to see them in "good" use.
