Dragon socks - Lohikäärmesukat

Here's the proof that I still knit something else than shawls as well.... A pair of wonderfully green socks in stitch pattern that reminds me of the skin of the dragon. Very 3D stitch pattern indeed.

I am not a big fan of 7veljestä yarn - but the other day I was just coming home from the hospital and popped into the local supermarket to buy something to eat, and there came across this lovely green yarn. So had to buy it. And as I came home I had the 1st sock on the needles in no time at all.

Because 7Veljestä is a thick sock yarn (or I think this is the "norm" for sock yarns for most knitters in Finland - especially those who don't surf the web for knitting content at all) the socks we're ready in no time at all. And they are nice and thick and comfortable. Just the way I wanted these.
Jotain muuta vaihteeksi, kuin pitsihuiveja:-) Nimittäin ihan seiskaveikka sukat. Neuloin nämä hetken mielijohteesta, kun tuosta varubodenista tarttui lounaan lisäksi mukaan kerä herkullisen vihreetä seiskaveikkaa (ja en todellakaan ole seiskaveikka fani, mutta tällä kertaa lankesin...)

Neulemalliksi valikoitui "piirakkaneuleenakin" tunnettu malli, (tätä on näkynyt milloin missäkin käsityölehdessä -viimeksi Novitan sukkalehdessä) joka näyttää mukavan kolmiuloitteiselta. Ja mieleen tuli heti lohikäärmeennahka. Eikös se ole tällaista kauniin suomuista? (modasin muuten sukat oman maun mukaisiksi, eli näissä on tuota piirakkaneuletta sekä edessä että takana, ranskalainen kantapää reikäneulekuviolla ja silmukoitu kärki.)
