A is for Asterope - A niinkuin Asterope

Good morning. I've been sleeping the whole day today. This is such a weird feeling, having lost all day. Nevermind - maybe tomorrow some lab tests will bring some light to my itching, sleeping etc issues. Cannot wait.

On the knitting front here's the finished Asterope shawl that I did as a part of alphabet challenge that is running in Finnish Ravelry group Kahelit. The goal was to begin a project that begins with letter "A" in October and to finish it by the end of November. Similarily in November the challenge was to begin a "B" project which should be ready by the end of December. What a wonderful idea! So it is no wonder that I'm in.
Huomenta päivää - olen onnistunut nukkumaan koko päivän. Ja olo on sen mukainen. Aivan absurdia ajatella, että päivä vain katosi samalla kun olen nukkunut. Noh - todellakin taisin olla unen tarpeessa ja olotila on nyt jonkun päivän ollut sellainen että tosissani odotan huomisia labratestejä - josko ne toisi jotain osviittaa siihen, mikä nyt mättää. Tänään vuorossa neulomusten saralla on ensimmäinen Kahelien A-haasteneule . eli Asterope huivi. (toinenkin A neule on valmiina - nimittäin Akimbo - mutta siitä enemmän joku toinen kerta.

I made the size large and I love the result! The design is simple - yet beautiful. The yarn must be one of the softest ones I've ever encoutered and the knitting experience was just wonderful. (Ever noticed that many times the shawl patterns look great and are beautiful but somehow end up being either a bore to knit or then they are the kind of patterns that can only be knitted when 130% focused and the light is good and the planets have been correctly alligned etc...) This shawl was an exception to that rule. What a JOY to knit! I am already considering knitting the smaller version in Malabrigo lace (or something like that). What a fun!!
Neuloin suuremman koon ja lopputulos on todella mieleen. Vähän mietin aluksi tuota luonnonvalkoista väriä, mutta tähän malliin se sopii loistavasti. Pakko sanoa että ihan ehdottomasti yksi mukavimmista neulottavista malleista mitä olen ikinä neulonut! Tässä pääsi todella helposti ns. Flow-tilaan - ja neule vain eteni kuin itsestään. Ihan täydellinen yhdistelmä todella helppoa sileää neuletta ja pitsineuleen lievää haasteellisuutta. Kuitenkin niin, että missään vaiheessa ei tylsistyttänyt yhtään (!!! tämä on tosi harvinaista!!!) , muttei myöskään tullut sellainen olo, että "tarvitsee koko ajan olla 130% skarppina ja mielellään parin kohdevalon alla ja kun vielä planeetat on oikeassa järjestyksessä niin, ehkä tästä vielä jotain tulee... "

Kerrassaan ihana malli neuloa! Tietysti pienessä mielessä on jo käynyt josko neuloisi myös sen pienemmän version tästä. Mahdollisesti Malabrigo lace langasta tms.
