Grace cardigan - Grace neuletakki

I call this my Grace cardigan due to the lovely yarn I knitted it with.
I love the colour - saturated , jewel-like petrol blue - and I loved the pattern when I saw it - but the outcome? the Finished cardigan. It's ok. I cannot say I feel love, or that it is fabulous. It looks somehow so mundane. Which is almost funny as I really think the subtle details (such as the little vents in the cuffs , narrow moss-stitch edges etc) are quite clever.
Maybe it's just that I wanted this cardi to be so much more. I could imagine it in my head while knitting it - and that picture was so chic. Not boring, but a bit sassy even. I blame the size I chose - should have gone down one size at least. Because - is it only me or does it look a bit too loose on me??
(Which can be a good thing in the end - considering how I've been gaining weight recently. If I keep getting kilos like this the cardigan will be snug by autumn... not a nice thought that either)

so - here you have it. Cardigan that was supposed to turn out fabulous but ended up being a bit dull. Maybe I can "make it work" - add some nice jewellery or something. Need to experiment that.
On the brighter side - I'm knitting a simple top-down cardigan for Bella. Noro silk garden sock is just a fabulous yarn and those colours blend really beautifully. Hope to get this finished in few weeks or so ( as I also have "some" - ok I have 6 - scarves/shawls on my needles as well) ... not to mention all the other wips... Dodii - Aina ei ihan mene niin kuin pienessä päässään on kuvitellut.
Tästä neuletakista piti tulla aivan ihana. Lanka on mahtavaa silkki/villaa - väri aivan upea petroolin sininen ja malli Louisa Hardingin. Eli mikä voisi mennä pieleen? Ei kait mikään kunnolla. Sama neuletakki se on kuin orkkismallissakin.
Tosin taisin valita pykälää liian suuren koon, joka muuttaa neuleen luonnetta valitettavasti tylsempään suuntaan . (tosin jos jatkan lihomista samaan malliin, kuin koko vuoden niin syksyllähän tämä sopii täydellisesti! - jostain syystä edes tämä ajatus ei nyt lohduta yhtään...)
Nyt se on vaan ihan tavallinen neuletakki (vaikkakin siinä on kivat mansetit ja napit hihansuissa ja luksuslanka ja...) harmittaa snadisti.

No, opimme tästä, että aina ei voi onnistua ihan putkeen! Toivon silti hartaasti parempaa onnistumista puikoilla olevaa Bellan neuletakkia silmälläpitäen. Lankana fantastinen Noro silk garden sock ja malli "omasta päästä mutu-menetelmällä" - syntyvä top-down raglanhiha. Tästä tulee vielä hyvä. Ihan varmasti.
