Lace scarf

Pattern: Lace scarf by Lene Holme Samsoe (ravelry)
Yarns: Rowan Kidsilk Night in Fountain and for the crocheted edge Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine in Prune Mix
Needles: 4mm & 3.5mm crochet hook

It came out so light and airy and pretty. Gotta make more of these!
Tästä tuli sitten tosi ilmava, kevyt ja ihana. Näitä pitää varmaan tehdä lisääkin.

Vinnland socks

I planned to get these done during our little trip around midsummer, but didn't quite make it. Here they are - in all their glory (and in terribly over-exposed photos - sorry about that...)

Pattern: Vinnland by Becca Compton (ravelry link)
Yarn: Markkalanka by Markkas
Needles: 2.25mm Knitpicks Harmony dpns

So cool stitch pattern! and the fit is great. But I have to admit that toe-up sock is not my favourite way of knitting socks. That way all the interesting stuff happens in the beginning and all that is left is tedious leg part just when you are fed up with the pattern...

I think this pattern would be great in thicker men's socks. Maybe will try that later and knit another pair for my DH. But from top-down.

Tällä mallilla saisi varmaan tosi makeet sukat miehelle. Pitänee neuloa isommilla puikoilla siipalle kans oma pari.

So much better - Basalt tank v.1.1

Added 6 rows of garter stitch to the bottom of neckline and it makes all the difference. Now I can actually wear this without feeling too exposed. (picked up 27stitches, garter sts so that 1st sts of every row is slipped wyib and the last sts knitted together with a next sts from the neckline border)

Hah!

Basalt Tank

Greetings from a little sailing trip. We had a wonderful time. Weather could not have been better - every day over +25 celsius and sun. Mild wind - just the best you can get here.

I also have managed to finish some of my WIPs. Here's Basalt Tank - that is sort of finished. (meaning - that it is finished, but not quite as I would like it to be...)

Pattern: Basalt Tank by Norah Gaughan from Knitting Nature (ravelry)
Yarn: Jaeger Roma in "cocoa" approx.350g
Needles: 3.75mm
My gauge was spot on, and I chose size small, and already made shoulder straps half shorter than pattern asked for and the neckline is still way too deep for me. I cannot wear it comfortably like this so I need to adjust it somehow.

That said - I cannot stop admiring the talented Ms. Gaughan and how she constructs her designs. Love those hexagons.

Muutenhan malli on suorastaan nerokas. Norah Gaughan on epäilemättä yksi innovatiivisimmista neulesuunnittelijoista - ikinä.
