Vinnland socks

I planned to get these done during our little trip around midsummer, but didn't quite make it. Here they are - in all their glory (and in terribly over-exposed photos - sorry about that...)

Nämä piti valmistua jo Juhannusreissun aikana - mutta toisin kävi. Tässä ne nyt kuitenkin on kaikessa komeudessaan (ja harmillisen ylivaloittuneissa otoksissa ...)

So cool stitch pattern! and the fit is great. But I have to admit that toe-up sock is not my favourite way of knitting socks. That way all the interesting stuff happens in the beginning and all that is left is tedious leg part just when you are fed up with the pattern...

Tosi makee kuvioneule! ja istuu jalkaan kuin hanska. (tai kuin hyvän sukan tuleekin istua) Ainoa "vika" oli tuo toe-up rakenne. Joka vain ei sovi luonteen päälle. Siinä kun kaikki mielenkiintoinen tapahtuu heti alussa ja lopuksi jäljellä on vain puuduttava varren neulominen, joka toisen sukan kohdalla tuntuu kestävän ikuisuuden....
I think this pattern would be great in thicker men's socks. Maybe will try that later and knit another pair for my DH. But from top-down.

Tällä mallilla saisi varmaan tosi makeet sukat miehelle. Pitänee neuloa isommilla puikoilla siipalle kans oma pari.
